- If the numbers of teams is insufficient, the tournament can be cancelled. If the committee decides to cancel the tournament, each captain will be reached out. He will have the right to cancel his registration and be refunded, but he will lose his spot and will be added to the waiting list. If he decides not to be refunded, he will keep his spot for the following year (as well as the date and time of his first squad).
- If the tournament takes place, but there are less than 72 teams, the number of teams per group, the number of teams qualified for the finals and the prize funds will be modified.
- The decisions made by the committee are final.
- The cost of the team tournament is $560. The cost of Team Pots is $25 per player ($100 per team). The cost of the Mystery Doubles tournament is $25 per player.
- A spot is accepted only when the registration form AND the payment by e-transfer have been received. The captain will send his registration form. Payments must be made by August 31st, 2024 at 11:59pm to confirm the spot.
- Lanes 3 to 20 will be used. If a pair of lanes is defective and the head mechanic states that fixing it will take too long, the teams will be transferred to lanes 1 and 2. The pair will no longer be used during the squad even if it has been fixed.
- The teams must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of their squad.
- In order for each squad to be on time, a one-lane curtesy is asked. Everyone must do his part in this.
- The fall line will have to be respected. Crossing the fall line will result in a miss (0) for the throw.
- The oil pattern for the tournament will be not the house shot. It will be announced later.
- If the pinsetter touches one pin and this pins goes down, it will have to be respotted.
- If a pin has not been spotted on the first ball, the bowler must be warned by another bowler or an official BEFORE the ball is released. As soon as the ball touches the lane, the throw is considered valid. If a pin has not been respotted on the second ball, it will have to be respotted before the bowler attempts his spare.
- If a score needs to be modified, the two captains on the pair have to agree. If the bowlers are not able to modify the score, they have to ask an official or a staff.
- Extra Hole: Every hole must be utilised. If a bowler bowls with two fingers, there must be a maximum of two holes drilled. If a bowler bowls with three fingers, there must be a maximum of three holes drilled. Plugged balls are accepted. If a ball with an extra hole is utilised, it will be banned for the remaining of the tournament. The faulty bowler will keep his scores, but will need to finish the game with a different ball. The ball will be returned only after the faulty bowler has been completely eliminated from the tournament. This rule applies to the team tournament, the singles event and the mystery doubles.
- Resurfacing the balls: Altering the surface of a bowling ball is allowed during practice and in-between games. It is forbidden to alter the surface of a ball during a game. If a bowler alters the surface of a ball during a game, it will be banned for the remaining of the squad. The faulty bowler will keep his scores, but will need to finish the game with a different ball. The ball will be returned after the squad is finished. The faulty bowler will be allowed to utilise this ball again. This rule applies to the team tournament, the singles event and the mystery doubles.
- Tie: If case of a tie at any time, the highest team game of the squad will break it. If there is still a tie, the last team game of the squad will break it.
- Format – Triple Threat:
- Squad 1: 4 games in teams. Each game, the three highest scores are kept. Example: 250-225-200-175. The score of 175 is eliminated and the team gets 675. After the completion of this squad, the top 24 teams are qualified in Group A. The next 24 teams qualified in Group B. The last 24 teams qualified in Group C.
- Squad 2: 5 games in teams. The three highest scores are kept. Example: 250-225-200-175. The score of 175 is eliminated and the team gets 675. After the completion of this squad, the six best teams of each group will bowl the final squad.
- Final: 5 games in teams. The three highest scores are kept. Example: 250-225-200-175. The score of 175 is eliminated and the team gets 675. The 18 teams cash.
- Lane rotation:
- Squad 1 and Squad 2: The odd lanes move left / the even lanes move right. A pair is skipped (moving four lanes). Examples: The team on lane 5 will bowl on these lanes: 5-19-15-11-7. The team on lane 6 will bowl on these lanes: 6-10-14-18-4.
- Final: The odd lanes move left / the even lanes move right. The teams bowl the next pair (moving two lanes). The six teams of each group bowl on their block of lanes. Examples: The team on lane 3 will bowl on these lanes: 3-7-5-3-7. The team on lane 4 will bowl on these lanes: 4-6-8-4-6.
- Blind bowler:
- Squad 1 and Squad 2: If a bowler is late, he must arrive before the two teams on his pair start frame 5. If the two teams have started frame 5, the bowler must wait the start of the next game to jump in. Consequently, the score of the three bowlers will count for this game. The same idea applies for all the other games. No practice shot will be allowed for this bowler.
- Final: If a bowler is late for the first game, he must arrive before the two teams on his pair start frame 5. If the two teams have started frame 5, the bowler is not allowed to jump in at any time. Consequently, the three bowlers will bowl all 5 games by themselves and their scores will count by default for the team.
- At any time, in case two bowlers or more are absent, the scores of the active bowlers will still be calculated. However, logically, this team will finish last. If applicable, the active bowlers will remain eligible for the side events.
- As soon as the tournament has started, it is impossible to replace a bowler (injured or not) by another.
- The tournament will be managed by Lexer, the league and tournament software. No recap sheet will be printed and will have to be filled in. The official scores will be those retrieved by Lexer. In need of a verification, an official will double-check the scores recorded in Conqueror (the scoring system) under the Print games module. Recap sheets will be printed only if a pair of lanes is broken and the lanes 1-2 need to be used.
- The results of Squad 1 will not be posted until all 72 teams are finished). The results will be posted around 12:30am on April 26, 2025. The results will be posted on the website of the Challenge printanier and on its Facebook page . After that, the scores will be updated after each game.
- If an electronic issue occurs, everything possible will be done to retrieve the scores of the completed frames. If the scores cannot be retrieved, the teams will have to start their game from the scratch.
- Unsportsmanlike behaviours will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. At best, a warning will be given to the bowler or team. Worst case scenario, the bowler or team will be disqualified.
- The committee reserves the right to make a final decision during the tournament.
